Roseate Spoonbill Reflected 17×35 cotton sateen panel

This approximately 17″x 35″ Roseate Spoonbill panel is printed on a wonderful, soft 100% cotton sateen. The cotton sateen fabric provides a rich, detailed image.

This Roseate Spoonbill was photographed in Rockport, Texas with perfect lighting for capturing the full reflection. Photographer Sharon Hull Dinsmore says that although she typically doesn’t like to photograph birds facing away from her, she loved the way the photo captured the brightly colored breeding plumage as well as the full “spoon” shape of the bill. She also liked the way the reflection was broken up by the ripples in the water.

Sharon digitally enhances each of her photographs to create an image that looks more like a painting than a photograph. She also used a Posterization technique on this image to give it a more graphic effect.
