Easy Summer Sewing
With the right fabric and a simple pattern, you can construct some wonderful summer garments in a minimum amount of time. We continue to use many of the same patterns we have used for years as the styles are classic and the fit is easy.
The top is Easy, Ageless, Cool from Louise Cutting. We made the pants from Hudson Pants by The Sewing Workshop. Both are multi size and loose fitting.
If you are looking for yardage, purchase 2 1/2yds for the pants and you will be fine unless you are tall. These are ankle length pants.
For the shirt, purchase 2 1/4yds for sizes S – M and 2 1/2yds for sizes L – XL.
We used Art Gallery’s new Andina cotton for the top and Silky Noil for the pants. The fabric in the picture is the Linen color which is that true linen oatmeal color. The off white could be called Ivory. The Very White is very white, but thick enough for pants.
If you just aren’t a light color pant person, then check out these colors of Silky Noil. That Charcoal could go year around!
