Fun Summer Projects – Easy Quilt Kits

Summer is in full swing here in Texas! We are looking forward to July 4th and to seeing lots of shoppers in the store this month. We also know that thanks to the heat, July and August are great times to be indoors sewing. Our first group of featured quilt kits shows off some of our easiest quilt projects. So, whether you are looking to introduce the kids/grandkids to quilting or just looking for a quick and easy project for yourself, we think you’ll love these quilt designs.

Pieces of 8 Quilt Kits

Our Pieces of 8 Quilt Kits are always a hit. It’s an easy way to whip up a favorite fabric collection into a beautiful quilt in no time. Our Pieces of 8 Quilt Kits include our pattern instructions and 8 different 1/2 yard fabrics, 7 for the blocks and 1 for the binding. We often use a fabric like Minkee or Fireside for the backing to make a nice lightweight quilt! We feature several fabric collections in our Pieces of 8 Quilt Kits ranging from florals to grunge and flannel plaids. Six Easy Pieces Quilt Kits

Our Six Easy Pieces Quilt Kits are another fun, easy quilt style that sews up quickly. These kits feature our adorable children’s prints for quilts that have plenty of interesting motifs to keep the kids exploring for hours. Our Six Easy Pieces Quilt Kits each feature 6 children’s prints in nice big blocks to show off the fun motifs (like jungle animals, butterflies, forest animals, rhinos, and just fun kid scenes). These are also kid-friendly sewing projects. The kits all create an approximately 39″ x 45″ quilt and include our instructions and the the backing and binding fabrics. Rag-a-Muffin Quilt Kits

Our Rag-a-Muffin Quilt Kits include 6 coordinated 1/2 yard cuts of flannel and our instructions to create a 37″ x 45″ quilt. The quilt is constructed with two layers of flannel and a 1/2″ seam allowance. The seam allowance is exposed and clipped so that when the quilt is washed the edges will fuzz. This is another fun project for kids, although you will probably have to supervise (or help) with clipping the seam allowances. Even though flannel makes you think of winter, these lightweight quilts will be a favorite summer time quilt for everyone to snuggle under.
