Lava Linen from Telio

We are always looking for quality linen fabric that has great colors. Lava Linen is just that. This 100% linen is 54″ wide and prewashed so it is already soft. It’s a wonderful fabric to work with and we have alrealdy made several garments.

We absolutely love the Remy Blouse pattern. It is a beginner sewing project or a quick sew for an experienced seamstress.

We made the 3/4 sleeve length and the button front detail. There is an even quicker version with the front cut on the fold.

Everyone who has tried on this top loves it, but most want it longer.

Purchase 2 yds and you will have plenty to length the top.

Want something more detailed? You might enjoy sewing the LIberty Shirt.

The Liberty Shirt has diagonal side seams that are angled to the front. The collar, vented sleeves and asymetrical front and back add interesting details. Front topstitching is another design detail

This patterm goes to XXL.

If purchasing Lava Linen, 2 1/2yds will be ample for all sizes.

Even though the fabric is prewashed, we always wash our garment fabric before construction.

Songbook – A New Page

This panel and coordinating fabrics are from the imagination of Stephanie Sliwinski of Fancy That Design House & Co.

Meet Stephnie Sliwinski

Songbook – A New Page is the second collection Stephanie has done for Moda. Her first collection sold out quickly and we are excited to have another group from her.

Stephanie’s degrees in Art and Graphic Communication, combined with years spent honing her skills in the design industry, have allowed her to create artwork that brings joy, hope and encouragement to viewers.  

Fancy That Design House & Co. was launched in 2012 and features wall art and surface design.  Stephanie’s illustrations have been featured in The Land of Nod, The Handmade Home, Trader Joe’s, Uppercase Magazine, and more.

The panel from Songbook – A New Page has 6 designs using familiar phrases from favorite hymns entwined with great artwork.

It’s too hard to see what they actually say, so we are showing each of the designs on the pane.

Tropicalism by Odile Bailloeul from Free Spirit Fabrics.

It takes a compnay like Free Spirit to bring us such a bold and innovate collection as Tropicalism. The prints are fun, bright and all mix together. This is Odile’s second collection from Free Spirit and we are thrilled to have it in the shop.

Meet Odile Bailloeul

Odile Bailloeul — so how do you pronounce the name of this new designer. I had to ask Google and Google said to pronounce it “Oh-deal Bayou”. Good enough for me.

I don’t think I could descrige her any better than to just
copy the bio that was on the Free Spriti website.

“Odile Bailloeul has created designs since graduating from Arts Appliqués in Paris. Whether it be for paper, decoration, fashion or print ; this gourmet of color loves to bring some joy into our lives ! Since creating her own mark in 2011, she offers fabrics and sewing kits to share her bohemian world with us. Her nomad style takes us traveling at the pleasure of her inspiration.  Popular art, world wide folklore, textile craftsmanship, any excuse for this enthusiastic designer! Whether she is working with embroidery, oil painting, fabric or the decoration of her gypsy caravan, she communicates it with passion to give us inspiration for a warm and welcoming way of life, fantastic and poetic.”

Let’s just make this easy with a bundle of fat quarters or a bundle of 1/2yds. Either way you have some great fabric and you won’t have to eliminate any as each bundle has 16 pieces, which is the entire collection.

Stonehenge Surfaces – A Northcott Classic

Variations of Stonehenge fabrics have been available for over 10 years. Northcott Fabrics has made them a classic. They are fabulous for applique or make a great guy quilt….no flowers here.
