Camp Shirt and Picasso Rayons – Great combo!

A camp shirt for the summer months is just the thing for our weather. We have combined our favorite camp shirt pattern from Cuttling LInes Designs and one of our Picasso Rayons from Telio fabrics. Great mix.

These rayon prints are lightweight and machine washable. I even put mine in the dryer on low. They come out great. It’s time to give rayon another try if you haven’t sewn with it in many years.

This classis camp shirt can be made with our without darts that come up from the hem. We chose without darts for a loose, comfortable fit.
Sizes include XS-XL. This is a roomy pattern, particularly without the darts.

Our rayon prints are 55″ wide so our suggestion for fabric is as follows:
Sizes XS-M — 2 yds
Sizes LG – XL – 2 1/2yds

The pattern calls for 4 buttons, but we used 5. Just put in a note and I will be happy to select you some great buttons for your project.

We love this pattern. It’s easy to make and so comfortable to wear.

We like ours without darts for an easy fit.

It looks great over jeans, but then everything looks good with jeans.

Halcyon by Jason Yenter from In the Beginning Fabrics

Jason has done it again with another beautiful collection of prints and tonals. This collection is named Halcyon which is pronounced “hal-see-un”. The word Halcyon denotes a period of time in the past that was idyllically happy and peaceful.

Similar words are peaceful, happy, joyful, gentle, successful. All those words sound great right about now.

Enjoy this new collection and the book that Jason presents to go with it. We are in the process of making the Magic Coin quilt which we will kit, but wanted to show this wonderful group of fabrics now.

There are 6 quilts in the book featuring the
Halcyon collection of fabric.

Each quilt has complete directions and a list
of the fabrics used.

We are in the process of making kitting the Magic
Coin quilt which will be available in the coming weeks.

You can see why we loved this beautiful group from In the Beginning. Hard to resist those jewel tones. The Brushed tonals are probably going to become one of our best blenders.
