Favorite Patterns – Favorite Fabrics

It seems we return to the same patterns again and again for our simple and cool summer tops and pants. The Simplify Your Life top from Cutting Corners has been used again and again over the years. It is such a simple cool top. Why reinvent the wheel every time you want a new shirt? The Hudson Pant is a shorter length for summer with a loose fit thru the hip and no pockets to slow down the sewing process.

Now you just need some great fabric to sew both of these. The fabric we go to again and again is Brussels Washer Yarn Dye from Robert Kaufman. This fabric is a combination of linen and rayon so it is machine wash and tumble dry. It’s a great fabric for summer.

Top and Pants from Brussels Washer at Creations Kerrville

This picture of our Simplify your Life top and Hudson Pants looks so cool in the Brussels Washer from Robert Kaufman.

The top uses the Sage Brussels Washer and the pants are made from the Flax Brussels Washer.

Although neither the fabric nor the patterns are new to the shop, they are tried and true.

Trio of Birds

We are so proud of our webmaster, Sharon Dinsmore, who is not only a talented computer guru but also a photographer of birds in her local surroundings. When she combined her knowledge of computers and cameras, she was able to manipulate her photographs so they look as if they might have been painted. She then had them digitally printed on fabric so we could all enjoy using them.

Her latest venture is a trio of smaller prints that are perfect for pillows. We have two sets of birds. Each set contains the three birds pictured and instructions to make each bird into a 12″ pillow.

If you haven’t seen the other birds Sharon has printed, you can check see them at Digital Bird Panels.
