We have room in our store dedicated to displaying quilt and wearables patterns as well as books. Here we offer some of our favorite quilt patterns and books. We also offer some of our favorite patterns and books kitted with fabric on our Quilt Kits page. The patterns and books associated with those kits are also offered individually on our Quilt Kits page, so be sure to take a look at that page even if you are just interested in patterns and books rather than kits.

Meet Amur - from The Bigfork Bay Cotton Company's collection of incredibly realistic applique animal quilts. Our store models of these quilts are getting lots of attention, so we thought we'd offer them online too. Amur, the tiger, is the first one we offer here. The Amur quilt pattern ($14.98) is an appliqué pattern for a 25" x 27" quilt.

The cover quilt design is beautifully executed with gradation fabrics, but the design is equally good for other fabrics with bold graphics as shown in the smaller quilt pictured on the cover.

The Simple Star quilt pattern ($9.98) creates a 64" x 64" quilt with a medallion star design. The quilt pictured is from a sample we made in the store. The pattern uses just four light fabrics and four dark fabrics.

The Magic Squares quilt pattern ($9.98) by Helene Knott creates a believable 3-D effect with the careful selection and placement of values. The cover quilt is 57" x 74", but the pattern says it is "Easy to make in any size".

Crazy Curves Continues book by Elisa Wilson Elisa Wilson's Crazy Curves Continues book ($24.95) has some wonderful quilts using her 7" Quarter Circle Template Set ($17.98) and her 3.5" Finished Block Template Set ($13.98). We used the technique to make the Spheres of Influence quilt shown below. Our quilt used batiks in an almost monochromatic selection of colors. (Sorry the kit for that is no longer available.)

If you are looking for an usual quilt design with a lot of graphic impact, we think you'll love this book and these templates.

The Vintage Trick or Treat halloween stitchery pattern ($25.00) by Crab-apple Hill includes 7 halloween stitchery patterns as well as directions to complete this adorable quilt. Maisie stitched up a sample of the center block for us, which is shown below. The other 6 images include whimsical halloween pails and lanterns as well as the Halloween banner at the top. It is hard to tell from the picture, but the quilt has black rick-rack around the inner border and black ball fringe at the outside edge.

This Hibiscus quilt pattern ($14.98) relies on raw edge applique, creative use of batik fabrics and free-motion machine quilting to make a big impact in the 22.75" x 17.5" wall hanging. The pattern by Bigfork Bay Cotton Company is part of a series of floral quilt patterns that we really like. The lively flowers in the Sunflower quilt pattern ($14.98) by Bigfork Bay Cotton Company seem to be jumping right off of the quilt. This pattern creates a 34.25" by 27.25" wall hanging. Like their other floral patterns, this quilt uses raw edge applique, batik fabrics and free-motion machine quilting to create the detailed looking design.

The Texas Bluebonnet Wildflower pattern by Bobbie Y. Jarrett Designs ($8.98) is designed for hand appliqué, but it would also be great in raw edge fusible appliqué. You can see, to the right, that we had to get this one stitched up right away. The wallhanging created is about 15" x 25".

Bluebonnets Quilt Pattern
Here's a new pattern in the "Desert Series" of patterns from Susan Cranshaw that are so appropriate for Texans (see the Horned Toad and Roadrunner patterns below) . This Bluebonnets pattern ($12.98) is especially fun for us as she has used our Creations' Bluebonnet batik fabric in the bluebonnets of her model quilt.

The Turning Twenty Just Got Better! ($12.98) is a new edition of the popular Turning Twenty book by Tricia Cribbs. It includes instructions for the original Turning Twenty quilt as well as five new quilt designs that show how to turn 20 fat quarters into a great quilt.

Turning Twenty Again Book
We used our Teal-Rust-Green Twenty Batiks set (available on the Cotton Batiks page) to make this Turning Twenty Again batik quilt. It is based on The Turning Twenty Again book which is $10.00. The quilt style offers a great way to show off beautiful fabrics.

Are you a One Block Wonder junkie? Our One Block Wonder Quilt Kits have been so popular that we know many customers will be delighted to see this new book. The One Block Wonders Encore! book ($24.95) is the book that tells you exactly how to do those wonderful cubes that are just pictured in the first book. One-Block Wonders Book
Wow! We have really had fun playing with this great new technique for creating unique, one-of-a-kind quilts based on the book "One-Block Wonders" ($23.95) by Maxine Rosenthal. We've made numerous quilts and kits using the techniques in the book. The wonderful thing about these quilts is that each resulting quilt will be unique, even if you use the same fabric over and over. Armadillo, Horned Toad and Roadrunner patterns
Pictures of Horned Toads or Roadrunners bring back fond Texas childhood memories for many. Susan Cranshaw has brought them back to life in two patterns from her "The Desert Series". The newest Texas critter from Susan's Desert Series is a cute Armadillo.

These patterns contain the designs, not complete quilt patterns, for raw edge applique using lots of little bits of fabric. They include great fusible web instructions. You could combine both patterns and create a unique quilt.

Afternoon Delight Quilt pattern
The Afternoon Delight Quilt pattern ($8.98) creates a 50" x 50" quilt with stars and diamonds.

Frames Quilt pattern

We love the way this Frames quilt pattern from Maple Island Quilts can really highlight a great fabric. Our sample quilt, right, uses Australian designer prints.

The pattern sells for $8.98.

BQ Quilt Kit
The BQ Quilt by Maple Island Quilts has been a favorite among customers. This is a great design for showing off beautiful fabrics- like the Australian fabrics version below left, or the batik version, below right. BQ, by the way, stands for Big Quilt! The BQ Quilt pattern ($8.98) makes many sizes - from throw to king size. Our models are 70" x 90" quilts.

All Things Primitive book
The book All Things Primitive contains many great projects, as you can see from the wide range of projects pictured on the book cover.

Nine Patch Pizzazz Book
Our Nine Patch Pizzazz Quilt model, based on the book Nine Patch Pizzazz ($16.95), features poinsettia fabrics. The quilt was originally a model for a quilt kit which we've now sold out of, but the quilts in this book are great for showing off all sorts of beautiful fabrics.

Carpenter's Star
The Carpenter's Star quilt pattern ($7.98) from Calico Carriage states there are "No Diamonds and No 'Y' Seams used in the piecing of this quilt". To simplify the traditional design, the pattern uses half-square triangle units and background squares to construct the 70" x 70" quilt.

No Diamonds in the Sky
Here's another "No Diamonds, No 'Y' Seams" pattern from Calico Carriage. This time its the No Diamonds in the Sky quilt pattern ($7.98). To simplify the traditional design, the pattern uses half-square triangle units and background squares to construct the 92" x 92" quilt.

Shining Star
The Shining Star quilt pattern ($7.98) from Calico Carriage is another one of their "No Diamonds, No 'Y' Seams" patterns. To simplify the design, the pattern uses half-square triangle units and background squares to construct the 40" x 40" quilt.

Bali Sky
Another "No Diamonds, No 'Y' Seams" pattern from Calico Carriage, the Bali Sky quilt pattern ($7.98) shows a great way to use some of your favorite batiks. To simplify the construction, the pattern uses half-square triangle units and background squares in this 36" x 36" wall hanging.

Yellow Brick Road Quilt pattern
The Yellow Brick Road pattern from Atkinson Designs is great for a scrappy quilt. Use pre-matched fabrics from a single collection, or choose an assortment of coordinating fabrics. We've used it in some of our quilt kits with great results! The Yellow Brick Road Quilt pattern ($7.98) makes a 57"x75" (approx.) quilt.

Strip-Pieced Quilts ($23.95) by Maiike Bakker has some great designs. We made one using black and white fabrics and it was stunning.

Kwik Scrappy Log Cabin quilt pattern
We love the look of scrappy quilts and this is a fun scrappy log cabin pattern. You may recognize it as the basis of several of our popular quilt kits.The Kwik Scrappy Log Cabin pattern ($8.98) creates a 61" x 79" quilt.

Fractured Flag Quilt
This Bargello flag is easy to assemble! It creates a 37" x 26" quilt. When you use a binding that matches the background it looks like the flag is waving in the air.

Bento Box Quilt pattern

The Bento Box Quilt pattern has been a hit in the store. We've sold out of the quilt kit shown below but we still have the Bento Box Quilt pattern available for $8.98.
